So excited to hear from the Australian Fairy Tale Society that my poetry Ezine submission has been successful. I’m looking forward to seeing it in print next year. Yeah!!!
Thrilled to have another picture book on its way to becoming published with Nightingale Publishers.
I can’t wait to see my ‘Birthday Balloon’ in all its glory for children to enjoy.
This book is full of imagination and wonderment. Not only will ‘Birthday Balloon’ be fun to read, it will also show the colours of the rainbow spectrum.
I’m an author, definitely not a movie producer, but I’ve done my best with what technology I had available to me. I’m reading my picture books on YouTube and hopefully I’ll bring a smile or two to little loved ones out there who are in lock-down at home during these incredibly difficult times. My creator name on YouTube is: Dianne Ellis Picture Books. Please stay safe and healthy. xx

About the Book
Mr Crocodile loves sponge cake and he’s quite excited when Mrs Crocodile suggests he learns to cook. What a wonderful idea! He can make his own cake every day. But when he goes along to cooking…..
Children enjoyed hearing about ‘Kingsley the cross-eyed Kookaburra’ at this great event held on 16th January 2020 at Dapto’s Ribbonwood Centre. So many colourful feathers were floating around the story pit from brilliantly crafted Kingsley masks that the children made.
What a great book launch for my fifth picture book titled ‘Kingsley the cross-eyed Kookaburra’ held on 14th December 2019 at the Heritage Railway Institute in Thirroul.
Also, I had the pleasure of reading my book to the Infants students of Austinmer Public School. The children assisted with providing excellent sound effects and were very attentive. Afterwards, they made their own style of Kingsley masks. Bravo!
‘Kingsley the cross-eyed Kookaburra’ is now available in most book shops.
I loved discussing picture books with the children at the Shining Stars Early Learning Centre in Wollongong during the week. It was unanimous that ‘books rule’ and I had a lovely time reading some favourite picture books to the children. After our cosy reading session, we made some lovely bright craft caterpillars. All in all, a great Book Week day.
What a great way to start the year! I read two of my picture books to children at the Kids Day Out free event at Ribbonwood Centre, Dapto last week. After the readings, we made craft masks in relation to these books. There were lots of Rusty Rumbles and Mr Crocodiles walking around the library. What can I say…my books were well received and the day was a huge success. Thanks to the CBCA Illawarra/South Coast Division for organising such…..
I’m so looking forward to reading ‘Mr Crocodile’s Cooking Class’ at the Fullers Bookshop in Hobart on Saturday morning 7th July 2018. The reading will be followed by an interesting crocodile-related craft activity and I’ll have my special crocodile signing pen and crocodile stamp with me. Hope to see you there.
It never ceases to amaze me when I talk to children how interesting they really are. I spoke to a 3rd grade class at Hastings Public School about my books, particularly about the evolution of my latest picture book, Mr Crocodile’s Cooking Class. During the question time, I was asked some really full-on but interesting questions about why I write, who inspired me and when did I start writing. As I said to the Librarian, Ms Dobson, I was so impressed…..
