It never ceases to amaze me when I talk to children how interesting they really are. I spoke to a 3rd grade class at Hastings Public School about my books, particularly about the evolution of my latest picture book, Mr Crocodile’s Cooking Class. During the question time, I was asked some really full-on but interesting questions about why I write, who inspired me and when did I start writing. As I said to the Librarian, Ms Dobson, I was so impressed with their level of knowledge and even though most of these children were at least 8 years old, they seemed to really enjoy my reading to them. It just goes to show, you’re never too old for a good picture book.
The following day I spoke to younger children who were aged between 3-4 years at the Early Learning Centre at Port Macquarie. They were awesome little listeners and loved the characters in my book, particularly the Chef. Obviously, their questions were not as intense but still interesting and you could tell they understood the hidden meaning behind the book that if you want to be good at anything, you need to practise.
Love sharing my stories and feel blessed that I have four books out there for children to share.
Recently, my fourth picture book was launched 'Mr Crocodile's Cooking Class' and this book is now available to purchase through my website or through bookshops.
